Primary Photographer for 1st photography crew

I was born and raised in Wisconsin, and ever since I received my first camera in second grade I have loved to capture the moment. It was not until years later that I realized I could make a career doing what I love as professional photographer. To pursue this career I attended Cardinal Stritch University of Milwaukee, WI, where I majored in studio art and photography.

In June of 2000 I moved to Connecticut, where I honed my skills under the mentorship of Michael Tomassi, a premier photographer in the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut area. Working under Michael allowed me to explore my love for capturing emotion and making beautiful images through photojournalistic and traditional styles of photography. While under his mentorship I learned all aspects of the business including customer / business relations, sales, advertising, operation, and album creation. In return I was able to contribute my unique artistic style, extensive digital image manipulation skills, overall computer skills, and my drive to achieve new levels of the business by adding websites, digital albums, and an online marketplace.

While working with Michael I have learned how to photograph a variety of functions such as weddings, birthdays, Bar / Bat Mitzvahs, engagements, anniversaries, company parties, communions, and commercial photography, for companies such as the Ethan Allen, Arch Chemical, and GE. Within the past 5 years I have photographed over 500 functions with people of traditional / non-traditional families, different cultures / ethnicities, and a variety of religions. Living in the New England area has allowed me to work in prestigious halls and locations such as West Point, La Chateau, The Amber Room Colonnade, Mark Twain's House, St. Clemens's castle, and various other locations throughout Connecticut and New York.

Feeling the drive to return to Wisconsin, I decided to settle in the Appleton area. I did not believe that all that I have experienced should go to waste, therefore, I decided I could share all that I have learned by bringing the New York style to the Midwest.

Primary Photographer for 2nd photography crew

Ever since I was a boy, growing up in Hartford, WI, I was fascinated with photography. My grandmother gave me an old Kodak point and shoot camera when I was in grade school and I quickly assembled a photo album of my life. In high school my joy of photography took a backseat to music, sports and theater, but my interest remained.

While working towards my Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh my fascination with photography was renewed. I took several photography classes and had some opportunities to shoot for my college newspaper. After working as a reporter for a newspaper for a year I decided I would make a career out of photography. I worked doing small jobs for local organizations photographing events and festivals.

In 2005 I began working for Picture This Photography photographer as a secondary photographer and under the guidance of Photographer and Owner Jennifer Pomeroy; I learned the wedding photography trade. As a primary photographer for Picture This Photography's second crew, I blend my own style of photography with that of Picture This Photography.
